Wild hog bacon. If that’s not a good enough reason to get you chasing down hogs then we don’t know what is. Besides being delicious there are many other reasons to put these critters at the end of your rifle barrel such as controlling property damage, they’re available year-round, and they’re considered an invasive species.

Feral hogs are tough animals. Males have a thick shoulder plate, so as with just about any animal, shot placement and caliber selection are important. Pretty much anything that will work for deer will also work for hog.
